STEADY STATE

“We are a Well Oiled Machine”

The steady state of a company is typically when a company reaches a point where they are in their “groove swing” and most of the companies business units have best practices and methodologies that work well and are contributing to the bottom line in a positive fashion.

The goal of web technology in this phase of business is based on the standardization and proliferation of best practices and methodologies to all entities which contribute to the success of the company. Obviously the employees, but equally important are the partners. Often overlooked and taken for granted are the partners ability to keep pace with the company as they grow and mature.

Utilizing Enterprise Community Portals (Social Networks for Business) are an excellent way to share the persona and expertise of the individuals who make a company great with the partners whom they interact with. The ECP can be the baseline for an Innovation Network, Mentoring Community and 360 degree feedback portal.

These are the new “extranets” and are what Kevin McFarland the author of “The Breakthrough Company” calls Scaffolding. GEM has built the foundation of scaffolding.

From a marketing perspective, the well oiled machine can benefit from:

  • Analysis of marketing metrics, shift to most effective tactics
  • Internal branding documentation & communications
  • Affiliation campaigns
  • Additional web enhancements
  • Secondary tradeshow assets
  • PR continuation
  • Continued feedback surveys
